Another drop in unemployment rate

In Poland, according to the estimates by the Eurostat, unemployment rate was 4.4% in February 2018. The EU28 unemployment rate was 7.1% and in the euro area 8.5%. The EU28 unemployment rate was 7.1% in January 2018, stable compared to the previous month and down 0.9 point compared to last year.

 

Poland was among 7 countries with the lowest unemployment rate of 4,4%, i.e. 0.1 percentage point less compared to January 2018 r. In turn, compared to February 2017, it decreased by 0.8 percentage points (from 5.2%).

 

According to estimates by the Eurostat, in February 2018, the unemployment rate dropped for both men and women. The unemployment rate for women was 4,4%. While in previous month it was 4.5%. Also the unemployment rate for men decreased by 0.1 percentage point (from 4.4% to 4.3%). 

 

Among the Member States, the lowest unemployment rates in February 2018 were recorded in the Czech Republic (2.4%), Germany and Malta (both 3.5%). The highest unemployment rates were observed in Greece (20.8% in October 2017) and Spain (16.1%).
